Cloisonne involves the use of metal wires to create partition patterns and fine details on the base metal body. Champleve involves carving partitions and depressions into the metal surface creating patterns and fine details. In both techniques the depressions are filled with the enamel powder and baked. It requires a thick metal base and is often used on brass, copper and other base metals. Patina: As intended this vintage lamp has never been lacquered so that it could develop this lovely antique patina which is only achieved by long natural aging of genuine cast brass. We would certainly never polish out this gorgeous patina or cover over with lacquer. It has been professionally rewired and fitted with a brand new handcrafted genuine silk lampshade. Size:
