Drum Shades
Drum shades come in two basic shapes: Tall Drum Shades and Shallow Drum Shades.
Tall drum shades are shaped like a tall barrel or cylinder.
Shallow drum shades are shaped like a short barrel.
Our drum shades are of very fine quality and handcrafted with heavy gauge frames and more substantial than typical lamp shades.
What Are Drum Lamp Shades ?
There are two (2) kinds of drum shades.
1- Tall Drum Shades - A Tall drum shade is shaped like a tall barrel.
2- Shallow Drum Shades - A Shallow drum shade is shaped like a short barrel.
Drum shades are handcrafted by covering a steel shade frame with either silk, linen, fabric, paper, rattan, steel or mica.
Some drum shades have soft luxurious linings and other drum shades have either no lining or a durable hardback liner.
Drum shades are compatible with any lamp style and usage is based mostly on customer preference.
Customers often refer to "Modern Drum Shades" but drum shades have been popular since before the Art Deco period.
Early Hollywood movies show drum shades in wide use for over a hundred years.
Today tall drum shades are used mostly on vintage lamps.
But shallow drum shades are used on lamps from any period.
Again, usage revolves around customer preference.
