Slag lamp shade frame was deeply corroded throughout. A good deal of foreign material also had to be removed. Glass panels were removed then the frame was pressure washed and hand scrubbed inside and out. The frame was warped and had to be heated and reshaped by hand. The frame was then lightly primed and cured. Our artist applied a bronze base coat which was cured for several days, then hand painted the antique gold highlights throughout much of the embossed detailed decorations. The lamp base was in the same condition. It too was refinished similarly. Several photos of before and after repair and refinishing are shown in the detailed images.
