Bases are substantial heavy one piece cast iron.

Beautiful stained glass lamp shade is completely hand crafted using the classic copper foil technique developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany over 100 years ago.
Tiffany shade has hundreds of glass pieces each cut out by hand.
The border edge of each glass piece is then hand wrapped in copper foil.
All the glass pieces are then assembled together and soldered into a lovely pattern much like a puzzle.
All joints inside and out are then artfully secured together by hand with a lovely raised bead of solder.
The soldered joints are then treated with an aged patina.
