Heavy cast metal antique slag lamp base is broken into. Proposed Repairs:
1) Repair break in lamp base
2) Vintage style rayon cord
3) Four (4) pull chain sockets - Antique finish solid brass sockets Slag shades are usually quite heavy so this type of repair requires extensive reinforcing inside.
Simple solder or glue will not work.
A steel tube may be installed on the inside.
Breaks like this often leave gaps as the metal is deformed at the break area.
It will likely require an epoxy filler and refinishing at the break area.
The repair may leave a "wound" similar to a scar at the break area.
