Tiffany lamp features unusual white dragonflies on a stained glass shade of lovely blue-green, lavender and white glass bespeckled with richly multi-colored jewel glass cabochons. Stained glass shade is 16" wide mounted on a heavy one piece cast iron base with bold embossed dragonflies and botanical decorations. Tiffany style lamp shade is handcrafted in the old world copper foil method and loaded with colorful cabochon jewels. Stained glass lamp shade is completely hand crafted using the classic copper foil technique developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany over 100 years ago.
Each piece of stained glass is cut out by hand.
The border edge of each glass piece is then hand wrapped in copper foil.
All the glass pieces are then assembled together into a lovely pattern much like a puzzle.
All joints inside and outside the lampshade are then artfully secured together by hand with a lovely raised bead of solder.
The soldered joints are then treated with an aged patina to match the lamp base.
